What is a Codence
Codence works with its clients to launch careers and better support their use of technology. We engage students, but often non-traditional candidates as well, as apprentices to learn Claris and other technologies, software development, and consulting practices. It’s an inspiring program that provides matchmaking and support for sponsoring clients and individuals.
In a nutshell, we manage a recruiting and training curriculum during what is typically a 12-week program, after which we all intend that the sponsoring client may extend a permanent position to an apprentice should they choose to.
Goals of the Program
Our experience is that this is a win-win for clients and apprentices both. The apprentice gets real-world experience, training from a professional organization, and an introduction to a possible new job.
Our clients have the opportunity to hire someone to help drive technology needs, who can both serve as an internal resource, and who has strong ties and familiarity with Codence. This is a significantly lower-risk way to hire: the best way to get to know someone is to work with them — this gives everyone a chance to try it out. Secondly, our clients gain a capacity with software projects without having to depend solely on us as a third party.
Meet Our Apprentices
Truman joined Oliver Behavioral Consulting at the end of his apprenticeship - he serves there as an IT Manager.
Valerie was hired as an Application Developer at Codence after completing the apprenticeship program.
Hashim completed the apprenticeship with Codence focused on Non-profits, FileMaker and Marketing.
Aline transitioned from the Apprenticeship program to become a Project Manager at Codence.
Alex joined our apprentice to learn Claris FileMaker to transition to a support role for one of our clients, PRIDE Centric Resources.
Erika Green concluded the apprenticeship program and transitioned to work as Claris FileMaker Developer at Forester Benefits Management.
Justin joined our Codence team as an Application Developer after completing the Apprenticeship program.
Shamma completed our program and transitioned into a Software Engineer role at Health Street.
Najee completed our program and transitioned into a Software Engineer role at Sansei.
Bailey is an apprenticeship graduate and now an IT Systems Coordinator at Thriving Families.
